A number of Steinhardt students came out to volunteer their time and talents at Steinhardt Undergraduate Student Government’s DAY OF SERVICE, on October 23rd. Participants constructed Surgi Dolls, wrote Sunny Grams, and assembled craft kits, all of which were donated to Project Sunshine, an organization that aims to brighten the lives of hospitalized children. “The event was extremely successful, and an enormous thanks to all who came out!” said USG Vice President Joey Kopriva, Day of Service chairperson.
If you missed the day, don’t worry, USG will have plenty of service opportunities available throughout the year. Any questions? Do not hesitate to contact us at steinhardt.usg@nyu.edu.

Spring Day of Service 2010
Sunday, April 18, 2010 Thanks to all of you who came out and made our spring Steinhardt Day of Service another great sucess! This spring's Day of Service involved a number of great opportunities, ranging from the always successful PB&J sandwich and Surgi-Doll making event that is held on-campus at Pless Hall (during which we made over 400 sandwiches and over two dozen Surgi-Dolls!), to soup kitchens, to an ABC event held in Echo Park (which was coordinated by our co-sponsor, the Graduate Student Organization), to the Special Olympics Basketball and Aquatics Tournament held at Fordham University.
Alternate Senator Rachel Nevers and I were able to go along with some of our volunteers to the Special Olympics event, and below you'll see a picture of Rachel with Maria, one of the many athletes in attendance. The event was a spectacular success, and I'm proud that NYU was able to represent itself there.
We had a good number of volunteers attend every event, which all helped make NYU Steinhardt shine across the city. All of your generosity was much appreciated -- we know it's not easy to take time to volunteer towards the end of the semester. And for those of you who weren't able to make it this Spring, we hope that you'll be able to join us again in the fall for our next Day of Service! Thanks for a great year, Steinhardt. See you in the fall!

Semi-Formal at The W
Sunday, March 7, 2010Hey Steinhardt!
Our Annual Semi-Formal took place on Friday, February 19th from 8:00-11:00PM at The W Hotel in Union Square. In the past our formal was held at Tavern on the Green, but this year we decided to change things up and bring our dance a little bit closer to campus. In fact, you could see Carlyle Court from the dance floor.
