Freshmen: Need to polish up your Resume? Need some help?

Monday, November 30, 2009

Hey everyone,

I hope you all had a fantastic Thanksgiving break. I know it's tough
coming back... but don't worry! We've got something planned to get you
right back into the swing of things.

12/3: This Thursday, from 6:30-7:30 on the 3rd floor of Pless Hall,
Steinhardt Professor Deborah Borisoff from the Department of Media,
Culture, and Communications will be leading a brief, one hour resume
workshop.

This is huge! I know most of us have been putting off job applications
for the second semester, so here is a great way to put the last
finishing touches on our resumes before sending them out to employers.

Also, applications for orientation leaders will be going out soon..and
the first thing they ask for are resumes!

Professor Borisoff is looking forward to helping out, so bring a draft
of your resume so she can look yours over.

Please RSVP to omc216@nyu.edu!

Have a great week back and see you this Thursday!

Sincerely,

Livie Casto
Freshmen Class President '09-'10

Faculty Roundtable With Professor Sandee McClowry

Join Professor Sandee McClowry for a Faculty Roundtable on Tuesday, December 1 at 10:00 am on the fifth floor of Pless Hall.

Professor McClowry is a full time professor in the Applied Psychology department. Professor
McClowry's interests include temperament-based intervention for elementary school children and their parents and teachers, as well as school-based interventions for inner city children. Professor McClowry's research project INSIGHTS is an effective, multi-level intervention that deals with the child behavior problems that concern parents, teachers, and school administrators. Professor McClowry uses puppets such as Gregory the Grump to teach children better ways to improve their own interactions with parents, teachers, and friends. Come to our faculty roundtable to learn about temperament based learning and the field research Professor McClowry is conducting. Learn about your temperament and understand how it relates to us as future psychologists, educators, speech pathologists, nutritionists, musicians, artists, and communicators.
